Labbaik Travel
A bilingual travel website and booking platform for a Mecca-and-Medina operator: hotels near the Haram, guided visits and trips across the Kingdom, a Build-Your-Own-Trip planner, and an admin that imports the sister site's catalogue and manages listings, photos and enquiries.
Inside the product
A look at what we shipped.
01 The Challenge
Labbaik's customers plan from abroad, in Arabic or English, on a phone, around a fixed arrival date. The goal was to make hotels, transfers and trips comparable and bookable in one flow, and to give a small operations team an admin they could run on their own.
02 Our Approach
- Next.js 16 App Router with React 19, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS 4; Drizzle ORM on PostgreSQL, with an embedded PGlite database so the project runs anywhere with zero setup.
- Build-Your-Own-Trip: hotel, dates, transfers and visits assembled into a single request the team can quote.
- Catalogue import that pulls the sister site's trips with photos and Arabic copy, and keeps each trip's published, featured and sort settings when re-run.
- Full right-to-left Arabic set in Tajawal, English in Inter, on a red / black / white brand system.
- AWS S3 for uploads, SES for transactional email, OTP-protected admin sign-in; the first visit to /admin creates the super admin.
03 The Results
- Live at labbaiktravel.sa in English and Arabic, with browser-language routing.
- One admin for hotels, transfers, trips, photos and enquiries.
- Sample listings clearly flagged, so the client could launch before the full inventory landed.
